I would say slime ball is someone who's untrustworthy and really cheesy when you talk to them. You might hate them, you might pity them or you might just avoid them. Is having a meeting with another company and accepting a job with them in the middle of a period of importance for your current company untrustworthy? Maybe some would see it that way, maybe some would see it as looking after number one or maybe some would see there being no problem with it. I think it's a bit dodgy myself so if it goes tits up for IB then don't have any sympathy for him. I shall also say no more on the subject.
