We created some reasonable play around the box but it just wouldn't drop right for us. A couple of chances first half should have been buried but weren't.
Up front at the minute we have about as much firepower as a leaking water pistol. I doubt Kelly, Eaves and Washington will bag ten goals between them this season. Maybe a tad harsh on Kelly as he isn't getting game time and at least looks like he knows where the goal is. Sadly Eaves has offered absolutely nothing so far. Is he over his injury or is this the best we can expect?
Ogbene was anonymous today, Wiles looked awful too. But the legacy of not subbing him has continued, at least Rathbone was having a go.
Viktor and Hall did ok, Norton Cuffy showed some real moments of class but also a few rushed touches that led to a misplaced pass or the ball going out. Barlaser looked as though he was trying to calm things down and play some good stuff but nobody seemed interested. As for Woody himself, was he at fault for their first goal? I couldn't tell, I was sat so far in the corner I was almost with the away end but did he freeze thinking their player was offside and by doing so allowed them through unchallenged?
As for the fans, I think we started off well, it looked like we were really up for getting behind the team but then our effort faded out to match the team effort.
Still, we'll go again on Wednesday. Can't say I'm inspired by our approach of Matt Taylor. Apparently we've had loads of applications and have been "surprised" by the calibre of some of the names, but yet we've offered the job to a guy with 8 weeks experience of League One who didn't even apply?
I'm normally a happy clapper but at the minute I feel I'm clapping with palms full of dog poo
