Monty Python was observational satire. It was a cynical poke at the establishment, established thought and contemporary humour of the time.

If you enjoy cynicism and appreciate its irony then you 'get' Monty Python and find it funny. If you don't you don't. A bit like Spitting Image back in the day I suppose.

That doesn't mean you haven't got a sense of humour but if you're looking for comedic belly laughs Monty Python and even Spitting Image weren't what you were looking for.

Even as a kid watching re runs I found it funny. At the same time some of it sailed over my head but I never pretended otherwise. Some of the latter I now find very funny yet in my very honest opinion other bits are just a bit s hit.

I also liked Dave Allen, Les Dawson and Benny Hill though so think of that what you will. If I find something funny I laugh. If not then meh. Talking of meh..... Harry Hill.
