Not sure the leak is that avoidable from either club. Only takes one insider in the club to call out and sneak the news. I don't think there's much the clubs can do as they will be arranging times for press conferences which takes much longer. I guess they could have a person on the website ready to press release as soon as Taylor signs but I think there is more to it than that
