Thread: Sheep at home. Saturday 8th October

I thought we put pressure on them from the front all game. It helped they thought they were Man City and always tried to play out from the back mind you. I'll never understand teams doing that when they clearly don't have the players.

When our forward play is rudderless its so easy for teams to play against us as they know they can defend against us no problem then pick us off on the counter. The Sheepy game we kind of done that Same thing to them and that kind of tactic would be more than welcome tonight.
Yep - it’s also what we did to Alkmaar at Tannadice as well. Doesn’t matter if we’re at home or not - keep it tight, restrict space, don’t get caught out by balls over the top for Boyle to run on to and up front, press, press and press again. We will get chances tonight to score. If we keep the back door shut then like Alkmaar and the SSBs we may well get another result tonight fingers crossed.

I don't quite agree with this when talking about St. Johnstone. We had 5 times as many shots on goal as they did in that second period. That's not being happy to give up possession because they know they can defend against us. If we weren't getting past the 18 yard line then I'd agree, but we were and we were unlucky not to score. St. Mirren yes, we were stinking that day.
I though we rode our massively at times vs the Sheep, but you need that luck when you're down the bottom, looking to turn the corner. On another day, the Macedonian guy bags an easy brace with the open goal and the one v one up at the shed that he skied. That's not to take anything away from the grit & determination of our boys at times though. As you say, more of the same tonight please but the Hibees are absolutely flying and it'll take an even bigger effort.

Ive had a look through their results and most of their wins and their draw against the rangers the opposing team were down to 10 men. With the exception of Boyle i really don't think much of them. Definitely beatable and Porteous is due a bombscare moment, quality player but has it in him. I would liked to have seen more of Niskanen this season and id have given him a man marking job on Boyle tonight.
