    We did sign a goal scorer ( Rideout) and then stupidly sold him to Rangers. What a mistake that was.

    That was purely done for profit yet was seen by some (Jack Dunnet) as a good bit of business. What was also seen as good business was achieving relegation as he said we couldn't survive on such low gates. Brilliant short-sightedness eh? It led to another relegation the next year and even lower gates.

    Pavis was the Chairman at the time of Rideout & was pure & simple, make a profit in a short space of time.

    The late Derek Pavis was the chairman at the time.
