The reality is that when the Americans won the race in 1969 the Russians ceased attempting to put a person on the Moon. Nobody from Russia has got to the surface of the Moon.

The distance from Earth to the Moon is 384,400 kilometres (238,855 miles).
For almost two-thirds of a century we have had the technology to enable us to detect the continuous presence of intelligent life on the Moon. On the surface there are small amounts of helium, argon, and possibly neon, ammonia, methane and carbon dioxide, which are not suitable for life. So life needs its own constructed environment, which would be obviously detected by our technology. Given that which we know from Earth-bound instruments and the vast number of craft sent to orbit the Moon from numerous different countries we can conclusively discern that there have not been aliens there in the past and there are none there now.

If the Russians had got men onto the Moon in a soft landing they would have made it public, even if it ended in disaster. The Russians make no such claims. Nobody else with any scientific credibility makes such claims.

This is the usual burden of proof issue that you detest. It is not up to me to prove that the Russians did not get anyone onto the surface of the Moon. It is up to you to provide evidence that proves that the Russians did get someone onto the surface of the Moon.

The ‘dark side’ of the Moon refers to the hemisphere of the Moon that is facing away from the Earth. In reality it is no darker than any other part of the Moon’s surface as sunlight does in fact fall equally on all sides of the Moon. It is only ‘dark’ to us, as that hemisphere can never be viewed from Earth due to a phenomenon known as ‘Tidal Locking’. A better term for the side we don’t see is the ‘far side’, rather than the ‘dark side’, which leads to all kinds of misconceptions.

Or are you claiming that one lot of Russians got to the surface of the Moon and were murdered by aliens and a subsequent lot of Russians got to the surface of the Moon and were murdered by Americans.

Produce some evidence, firstly that any Russians have ever reached the surface of the Moon. Then, after that, we can examine the matter further.
