    I don't know why the word v i t a l is banned on here.

Imo think Starmer is OK so far, despite bodger's disgusting attempt to smear him by saying he refused to prosecute him. He has gloated to my knowledge and genuine empathy for all those who have been shafted more recently by the mortgages fk on top of all the other s hit going. I think him and Cooper are OK. The rest are less than ordinary but still miles better than the likes of Rees mogg. I think Raynor is there to appease the unions and hope she will be sidelined after labour win the next election.

But, just a quick question though given your comment about what Labour faced, do you believe the 2008 world financial crisis when there was a run on Northern Rock Bank and our behemoth banks like RBS nearly collapsed until Labour bailed them out was a minor hiccup in your world view and wasn't a drain on the public purse?

And yes I know Brown sold the gold cheap blah, blah, blah.
You are completely entitled to your opinions as we all have differing opinions on many and varied topics. I don't hold grudges BB and will always be interested in what you have to say.

    Top man.

Your posts are always a good read as, mostly importantly, your love of the Albion always comes across and you do the hard yards, especially now, to watch them and i have never read that you wish that they we would lose.

    Take care.

I get that BB but we all make our points based on the end results of these politician’s actions and not trying to dissect what might have been said by Melvyn King at the Bank Of England or whichever advisor at the time.

I’m no genius financially but you don’t need to be one to know that gold is just about the safest financial bet you can make.

I’ve been wondering whether to invest in it myself to a fairly modest degree, it rarely falls in value and it’s place in history shows it to be a very safe haven.

It’s also a finite resource and increasingly in demand.

It’s easy to bash Boris and the party but the challenges they’ve faced with Covid support and the energy support needed along with world economic factors are beyond anything I’ve witnessed in my lifetime.

I have no confidence in the present Labour lot, Rayner and that idiot Ashworth and motormouth Wes Streeting and a miriad of others are like a student group of zealots.

That said I can’t stand Zahawi. Braverman, Rees Mogg from the Tory party......a worse bunch of c u n t s would be almost impossible to assemble.

You'm right all those are useless c??ts and i'm not a Labour Red zealot and only think Starmer and Cooper are ok in the shadow positions.

It is such a sad state of affairs that we seem to only have self obsessed useless p ricks in the main who are out for themselves and the total opposite to the famous speech JFK gave about ask not what your country can do for you....".

I heard Hezza speak scathingly (and still very articulate) about bodger a few weeks back and even though this is ludicrous because he is 89, but he'd still be better than the s hit list put up by the bookies.

Regarding gold, i'm no expert either but I have read that it is the best thing to invest in in a recession and that the old gold wolfy version is especially s hit.

My sister in law buys bars of the stuff and then pays to have it kept in safe deposit box. I'm way to risk averse to do stuff like that though.

The problem is the Tories haven't known what to do with Brexit .

There are so many divisions on what Brexit should look like .

The Truss and Tufton Street mob wanted exactly what they delivered in the mini budget plus crushing the union's and tearing up workers rights .

Some wanted to end immigration .

Others want the cheap Labour coming in .

If you trace back to 2016 Brexit has buried everyone , Cameron , May and Johnson didn't get Brexit done either and it buried Truss and it will continue to bury the PM whoever it is .

The truth is it was a fantasy because we were in so deep with it it's impossible now to exit and prosper .

I say this as someone who voted to leave the EU .

It's not worth the price we are paying , it's not worth this shyte show that much I do know .

    Spot on post.
Not sure what anybody can do now, other then face up to the reality that in practice it hasn't worked and it isn't working now.
