BT, you do not make your protests in earnest. Go and climb up a suspension bridge and you will be left alone. Personally, as benevolent as I usually am, I would have got rid of the traffic on the bridge and got a couple of snipers to just give them a blast and and ultimatum to come down or the next shots wouldn't miss. We Brits are always criticised no matter what we do, so let's give the critics some ammunition!

Frankly I like the German way.

As you probably aware, BT, I am apolitical. I seriously question if life is any better post the last Labour Government. Indeed I would argue that it has deteriorated in many areas.

My question to you is what did the Labour Government of Blair and Brown do to enhance the quality of life for the many and not the few?

Are all the problems, the dumbing down, the attitude of the people, down to the past 13 years?

    Not a trick question.

Good to see just what a true reflection on British society our MPs are.
Not one has had any real time in a manual job. Most have been to University and have gone on to do things in law or become advisors within politics. They have made their objective to have a career in politics and many have achieved this by the time they reach 30 years of age.

Never mind, the majority will have degrees in something, which means that they obviously know more than we mere mortals who never went to Uni but still managed to make a success of life and have used our experience to make things happen in our particular field.
These people with no great experience of real life are running the country ----it certainly shows.

Swiss, you and I are apolitical and can see where most of the problems started and it is over the last two decades plus a little bit.

I do not know the system used in Hungary. Excuse my ignorance.

How does it work? Do you feel it is more democratic and results in outcomes that are better for the country?

The British suffer from a Panglossian view of the world, that how Britain does something is always the best in the best of all possible worlds. The NHS is a classic example. The fact that the country consistently comes near the bottom of assessments of countries seems to pass everyone by.

Added to that there is the situation where a Labour voter will rarely acknowledge that the Tories have done something good and vice versa.

Scarily, many people look to the State for the answer to everything. Individual responsibility does not exist for many, not all.

A mess does not do it justice!

Which people are these mon ami ?

This is from the ONS website, not a SKY TV soap opera, " The number of job vacancies in June to August 2022 was 1,266,000," seems there's plenty of work there, for those who actually want to work. In the Ribble Valley, every supermarket, pub, cafe and restaurant has lists pinned up of the current job vacancies, at the Higher Buck in Waddington, they tell me they are desperate for staff, but the poor dears back off when it's explained to them that it involves working evenings and weekends. Snowflakes eh.

Our last three holiday visits have embraced Norfolk, London central and Devon.

In every single location they are crying out for staff. "Closed tonight" signs are going are up in top notch restaurants because there is a shortage of chefs and table staff.

We were in Highgate and one of the area's best restaurants can only open 3 days a week because the chefs have f*ucked off back to Europe following Brexit.

In Kings Lynn a smashing boozer smack right bang in the middle of the town was being run by a one-man team of manager/glass collector/barman due to no working staff and he said he would cope because he was earning triple wages.

Get the European workers back because this Brexit bollox needs fixing and I'm sure a decent government could fix it.

A & E waiting times were within one-hour, routine operations were done and dusted with 6 weeks, now people are dying in the back of ambulances.

You don't need to be "political" to see how badly this country has worsened after 13 years of Toxic Party rule s_c.

While we’re on it BT outside the conservatives tell me one single thing that any of them did to enhance my life - your life or the so called few.

Can’t remember a single thing myself - as it’s give with one hand and remove with the other - that’s the balance of money distribution - single pot of money can only go so far without increasing taxes and us paying more to improve the services.

Actually BT as I’ve said so many times all of the parties only care about themselves and do not give a flying —— about me you or anyone else to be fair.

Immigration is a massive issue in our country and we’re so soft we can’t stop it ( gonna get worse with Labour in charge as well ) , as you say look after the many - sadly it’s not our own people we look after.

I'm sick of a few illegal immigrants being scapegoated army88, the poor buggers are only trying to better themselves.

It's the 2 million educated Europeans we are missing, for the life in me I cannot understand why we can't dish out visas to folks who want to come here, contribute to our economy and work.
