In fairness, it might just be a complete coincidence that everything that he has posted in this thread just happens to be the exact repeated editorial and news stance that the Sun has taken in the last 30 years and keeps repeating over and over again so it is seen by its readers to become fact.

……. and no that doesn’t mean me.

In theory I agree. I would go far higher personally. But I think that a 'go for the rich only' narraative will be too easily be dismissed as 'class war' and sunk without a trace whereas a progressive tax from these levels can frame the proposition as not just targetting the rich.

However, the last Labour attempt to frame a progressive tax idea sunk without a trace also so what do I know? I'm lucky enough to be in the lower end of the high tax bracket and I know that we could afford to pay more but I had higher earning friends that claimed that the last labour manifesto would skint them! Maybe you're right!

Perhaps you and Crash would like to counter the arguments that the FT present? Sounds convincing to me but always happy to have the other side put forward?

So you're countering the facts made within the documentary by linking to an article from a laughably biased right wing magazine (publishes articles by David Starkey ffs!) nthat was published before the documentary was released?
