Our budget allows to have a defence of young players with no championship experience or experienced players in their twilight if not last season in Championship. We have decided to play 2 of 3 CBs with older players that struggle to play 90 mins so have to be subbed.
People mention once we get to the world cup break we can rest and recuperate, yet it's the world cup break that is the cause of much of our problems.
Instead of having 8 weeks, of playing 1 game every Saturday, with rest inbetween each match, we have 4 weeks of 2 games a week, and 4 weeks off. We have a strike force of 3, which includes a player injured in preseason who has only just got back to match fitness and one starting his first season as a full time footballer.
I fail to see how the world cup break is of any use, other than it has allowed clubs the opportunity to change the coaching staff earlier.
