Why is he a liar. All he has said is that he believes in a market based system but with a fairer distribution of the proceeds. Sounds more social democrat than socialist which is where many people are if we must label him.

A hypocrite rather than a liar, a multimillionaire ex-footballer, a property developer, on £300,000 a year at Sky, now working for the Qatari state broadcaster.

He really ought to try and shut his big mouth because he makes for a massive target.

I'd be interested if you can give a quote from him that shows him to be hypocritical?

Also, genuinely confused by your Qatar state broadcaster comment, is he doing some work for Al Jazeera?

He's working on the world cup for beIN sports which is apparently a state owned broadcaster.

    Gary Neville:
I don't want anyone living in No.10 or No.11... thinking about bankers bonuses... it's not right & it's immoral.. it's a tired, failing government & they've had their time.. & Keir Starmer would make a very good PM compared to what we've got now..
Some people might say that his salary as a footballer was immoral right? Most bankers are poor compared to him.

Very interesting that you have omitted the bit of his comment that changes the meaning of it:

You quoted him as saying "I don't want anyone living in No.10 or No.11... thinking about bankers bonuses... it's not right & it's immoral.. "

What he actually said was I don't want anyone living in No.10 or No.11 , when people areworried about paying their energy bills and worried about how they are going to get through the winter, thinking about bankers bonuses... it's not right & it's immoral..

That omitted sentence makes much more sense of what Neville is saying. I know Howdy will be demanding that he kills his mother and sells her body for meat in order to raise money for the poor, but for me he's just making a political point. I remember my childhood hero Gary Numan making positive comments about the Conservatives and Thathcher whenb I was young. He was still a hero to me, and he's still entitled to those views now. Who cares?

Bankers and footballers are overpaid but at least bankers work 50-60 hours a week and they've done A Levels, degrees, banking qualifications. Footballers live the life of Riley, they never have to grow up.

Does that mean that he can't give his opinion on people such as him paying a bigger share of their wealth to help fund better services?

Asking him to shut his mouth does sound an awful lot like stifling free speech. Whether you agree with them or not, surely even multi-millionairres are allowed a left leaning opinion if that's the way they see life? Why the attempt to shut them down? I thought you righty guys hated that sort of thing?
