I agree that illegal immigration is not the reason for the current situation we find ourselves in and the monies spent on them is likely far less than the potential in lost revenues from not properly taxing big companies like Amazon or savings that could be made by introducing windfall taxes on the likes of BP or Shell. Nevertheless, the country does have to fork out large sums of money to cover the varied costs of illegal immigration which it should not have to if we had secure borders. Plus, of course, there is the issue of criminal activity linked to such illegal immigration. The issue does need dealing with and people are right to be concerned about it.

As for the Tories being to blame, well they and their policies have certainly not helped, but whilst you might be right to be critical of some of their reactions you can't really blame them for the covid pandemic or Putin's invasion of Ukraine and the global fallout from these.
