Outcomes for NHS cancer patients have never been favourable in comparison to many other countries, this is from the Nuffield Trust website,

"While cancer survival rates vary between countries, there is recognition that the UK performs less well than other comparable countries. This may result from differences in access to care, and delays in diagnosis and treatment, but it may also be due to population-level factors. We have used data from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to compare the UK's five-year survival rates for breast, cervical and colon cancer with 17 other countries."

Interestingly they state, "it may also be due to population-level factors". What on earth can they mean, surely they're not suggesting that an increase in population levels can have a negative impact on cancer survival rates ? That would be rather controversial given the thousands of illegal immigrants currently flooding into the country on a daily basis.
