Yes, we got as high as 4th that season under Steve Clarke until he got found out.
Shane Long was playing well and knocking them in that season.
I seem to remember us being 2-1 up at Reading and then losing 3-2 and the wheels then fell off.

After beating QPR 2-1 away on Boxing Day and being 4th we then went won 0, drawn 2 , lost 6 of the next 8 matches before winning 2-0 at Anfield to steady the ship.

Here’s hoping this ‘World Cup break’ will not reproduce such a disastrous run of results ! I am nervous, as previously mentioned, that our recent enhanced performances under Carlos may not be sustained !
Maybe our statistical historians will comment regarding our post Christmas results in recent years ?
