Intriguing story is that one Balan. How does a lad from Rishton become an Israeli citizen?

Well, it started when I wanted to hitch hike further than Europe, I had done Europe, all by hitch hiking. In fact into the M E ! Because working for the U S Army in Germany ,and getting reports of the conflict between Israel and the Arab states by teleprinters, and the advancements being made by Israel in the Sanai desert, roused my interest in that area. So were to go next?? Israel! Much later a friend came to me asking if I wanted to go to the States I told him, No! to Israel. He had never been abroad, so it was like, Ok! lets do Israel and the Middle East, (my plan was also to do the overland to India too) I knew of traveling (by hitch hiking !) so OK are you ready for it? First to reach Belgium and then lets see where it goes. My friend did not know any language so his favourite place was in the back seat were he could 'dose off '' at will, but then I hate traveling without chatting at least to find interesting subjects ,with the driver.

We crossed all of Europe to reach the Syrian Border, only to find, being British, only in a few days could we perhaps have permission to cross into Lebanon? (the British helped Israel ,so? So then back to where ?? Istanbul?? We started to walk back ,just forests there. We walked, and walked, we tried to ask for a boat to Cypress at the port of Iskenderun, but no boats, certainly non to Israel, and to Cypress maybe in a weeks time? So this Italian or French guy that gave us a lift picked us up in his small Fiat car, he was coming from out of Lebanon. Luckly, he took us to an airfield in southern Turkey, Adana. It was becoming cold so lets buy a meal with all this Turkish currency we had, we did just that. Spending all our Turkish Lira. Then knowing we had a plane to board, heading to the waiting room we saw the airport tax (???in Lira ) Oh gosh! we had no Turkish Lira ! I started asking people if they wanted to exchange currency's I had left from leaving different country's? (German marks, Belgium francs, etc ) Some American did want, so we were able to fly to Israel. I did have a 250 Danish Krona note in my shoe but did not want to exchange that for Turkish lira! After that it was just a matter of flying to Cypress ,catching a boat from Limassol to Israel. When in Israel find work on a Kibbutz! ( During the 6 day war they started asking for volunteers (mostly Europeans it go to work as volunteers on a Kibbutz.
Then you join a Kibbutz and meet a very attractive girl, bring her to England, but if she does not like it in drab old Rishton. But if she is attractive ,that's it, then back to Israel.

BT, oh in that case they would put down a red carpet for you. Take note New Immigrants get a certain discount on all they buy, its under the ''law of return''
The Law of Return (Hebrew: חֹוק הַשְׁבוּת, ḥok ha-shvūt) is an Israeli law, passed on 5 July 1950, which gives Jews, people with one or more Jewish grandparent, and their spouses the right to relocate to Israel and acquire Israeli citizenship.

Israeli citizenship grants many new opportunities – including the right to visit 159 countries around the world without a visa, get full medical treatment that is among the best in the world, tax benefits, and many other benefits that citizens of other countries do not have.

You have also the right to pluck all the women ,and lots more that would come from Russia ,once they know your here!! Gentlemen prefer blonds ,ops sorry ,but in your case it's 'toss a coin 'I think?' Just consider it BT and ....the weather ,I swear I could have been sunbathing today
My p c says 28 C outside, it felt like 30 c, but then again most of the women wear low cut blouse. Then in the local Suk,(the local market place plenty women wearing 'low cut shirts, blouse etc) I went there feeling 70y plus, I came back feeling 25y,its the warm weather BT honest.

Plus you as a new immigrant get to fly (a F-35 fighter jet) one great advantage today, is it's sophisticated weaponry and bomb some Bedouin tents in other deserts, nobody will notice. I think the offer lasts till the end of December?

I thought I would have my own gloat so commissioned well known Burnley artist Peter Chippendale to produce a painting to celebrate the great and joyous occasion.
The reference to Happy Place is what I named our yacht (Credit to Jordan North), and I asked for the Blackburn fans to be shown walking away looking dejected. (I was so close to using the Ashley Barnes version)...
Will now get it framed so it can hang next to my 'Proudsville' painting.
