    My frustration is that the amount of money spent on developing Gawthorpe and awarded Class 1 status it hasn't produced anything. It needed improving but the amount spent is not paying back.

    It bought us Zaroury, Benson, Cullen, Muric, McNally and Bastien though sinkov.

    The big problem was that Gawthorpe really needed that investment because we were so far behind many other clubs in respect of training facilities and this would always be a factor in trying to entice players to sign for the club.
    There was also a lot of upheaval as far as the youth coaching staff were concerned and it took a few years to get anywhere near sorting that out after the facilities had been improved.
    Whether the Academy will benefit us in the future is open to conjecture, however, as I said previously, it is a mandatory requirement that Premier League clubs run an Academy as Brentford discovered.
