Duk and Miovski were being used more or less as target men hoping that the occasional lump out of our own box would stick to them. With hardly nae **** rushing to support them, it was pointless.

A dreadful tactic, Goodwin, and predictably we got what we deserved. Just ****ing stop it.

This post says it all. If the tactic was to soak up the pressure then hit them on the break then fine if indeed you are up against a better team that keep possession well. This tactic has been used to great effect by many teams. But WTF ! Half a tactic ? cuz thats what Goodwin played. To hit them on the break you need at least two players in you opponents half ! Goodwin seemed to forget that part of the tactic. That's it folks that's our Manager a tactical genius, God help us !

Exactly. Also why start with Miovski, who has no real pace, if that was the tactic, surely you start with Hayes wide and Duk through the middle

Simple. Because he didn't want the gap to come down to six points. Why else would you instruct your team not to try to score?

I found it quite amusing so many people actually thought we had a chance of winning today

We hardly ever play well against Celtic,it’s why we have only beaten them about 10 times in the last 25 years.

We would honestly be better off just forfeiting games against Celtic and give them the 3 points. It would save all of us the time and bother.

Not disagreeing with most of your post which is evidently true but I don't get the vibe that many thought we might win, just that we as in the manager and players threw in the towel seemingly before the first ball was kicked. It comes across as more respectable because they were not at the races shooting wise and not because of Jim's don't try tactics resulting in only a one nil loss.

There was a few people at the start of this thread predicting we would win, plenty others on various forums said the same thing for some reason.

The tactics were shocking today but even if he set us up to have a go at them we still would have lost.

We will have a new manager at some point with completely different players and the Tims will still beat us 99% of the time.

It’s a complete waste of time playing them.

Ah the paradox o the Dandie, There is always a wee bit of us all who think.. It will be different today optimism bias they call it. Well we were humped again today and its left us deflated and the sense of optimism evaporates. But that optimism will return for the Huns on Tuesday and we'll go through it all again but with a different outcome this time.. oops there I go again.

Better off scrapping Scottish Football altogether perhaps but what would we do on a Saturday afternoon and we’d need a forum to moan on in the evening, would we not!?

Well lads I half admire your optimism of us beating the Tims after so many decades of us losing to them pretty much every time we play them.

Personally I go into these games knowing we are going to get beat, for some reason I still go but it’s probably more to do with the fact I have a season ticket rather than hoping we will win.

The days of us being able to compete with them are long gone I’m afraid,St Johnstone (yes bloody St Johnstone)have won more more trophies than us in the last 25 years.

That tells you all you need to know as to where we are as a club.
