Wow I really regret getting rid of Stephen Glass after you just pointed out that useless pish
Are you honestly trying to say that Stephen Glass or Jim Goodwin have been an improvement on Derek McInnes?
That’s not me saying we shouldn’t have got rid of McInnes but they clearly haven’t been an improvement on him like a lot of people said it would be easy enough to do.
Quotes from Goodwin tonight
"The first half was appalling"
"The two goals we conceded were pathetic"
"The worst performance of the season by a country mile"
"I don’t think I could say we’ve shown a lack of fight or commitment until tonight"
"tonight was abysmal and that’s all I can say"
All perfectly true unfortunately but you know the manager has lost the dressing room when he throws the players under the bus with comments like those.
I have my doubts that he will be in charge come Monday's match as I can't see Cormack let him spend money this transfer window and Cormack himself has already said we need to bring in players so I would imagine Cormack will want to move quickly as this is going to end one way only
What I find strange is this "We haven't become a bad team overnight" that he keeps peddling, granted we have played some nice football very early in the season but when can we honestly say that we were a good team under him?
In the last 8 games we have won 2 and lost 6 with scoring 11 and conceding 16, this says to me that Jim is actually quite correct, we've been a bad team for a long time now and with his ability to sap any confidence the players may have had in their own ability (Celtic game) then I struggle to see just how he can turn this around.
We've got Ross County then St Johnstone at home before the semi, lets be honest we're not getting to a league cup final either with Jim or a new manager so this would be the ideal time to cut our losses. Punt him and his staff and put Barry Robson in the hotseat for a few games while actual due diligence is carried out this time to get a manager that we should've had after McInnes left. This gives any new manager time to assess the squad and make any signings before the window slams shut.
Well you're a Goodwin fan,i've supported him so far but i think his time is up.
I think with this team Glass would be getting more out them than Goodwin, thats not me saying Glass shouldn't have been sacked either.
Just my opinion.
Mcinnes was rightly sacked,we were sh!t for 2 seasons under him,we appointed the wrong manager again,Cormack needs to get it right next time
Yep, it's been 6 an' half a dizzen between the three ... but I would be more defensive o' JG if he got us a decent defence![]()
3-5-2 doesna work ... as evidenced by the goals we are losin' fae balls comin in fae wide areas, but ... we dinna hae a decent back 4 unless we are playin' McRorie at the back ... or Richardson and/or Hayes. Add tae that, two of our best defenders this season have been Coulson and Scales - both loanees!
That's the rod he's made for his ain 'back'. As a former defender, Goodwin must be acutely aware that this is the January window priority #1.
Funding? No problem. Offload Watkins, Polvara, Morris, Roberts while they can still walk without the aid of a stick.
Out on loan players? ... sell McLennan and Campbell, see if Ngwenya and Hancock are any good as cover.... and if a strong central defence can be put in place, fk it ... sell Stewart as well while he still has a crumb of credibility, and Play McCrorie in mid, complete wi' captain's armband, alongside Ramadani. (Barron can fight for a place or **** off for some decent cash anywhere ither than Cheeksville).
Keep Besuijen ... cos if Duk learns tae play a pass mair often than take on an entire defence 25 yards fae goal, he will be off for good cash, and Vinnie might 'fill a hole'.
Richardson?? hmm ... wi a decent CH pairing, he could get better .... his forward runs doon the wing are often mair effective than Kennedy's.
Hayes? ... be good if he could help Duncan become the 'new Hayes'.... til then, or until his legs go, keep him!
Kennedy? Hmmm ... in the words of that childhood rhyme concerning a young lass with the forehead curl, .. 'when he is good, he is very, very good. But when he is bad, he is horrid.' ..... but wi' a decent full/wing back in support/overlap, he would be good mair times than nae .... so it all comes down tae gettin in the new Miller/McLeish two man wall .... over to you Jim ... it's a caker .. ken?![]()
