Maybe MT is bang on and it’s not excuses the players got protected so much under Warne. Maybe what we’re witnessing although I agree isn’t good is what’s needed. No favourites just players picked on merit.

MT is saying it as it is and some fans don’t want to hear it and it’s almost petulant the attitude of some.

It has to be his fault right?
It’s not possible that the squad left behind and players either not interested or injured have severely hampered what he’s trying to do.

Some of our supporters don’t want to know they are only interested in the here and now with very little patience.
Warne did a good job but had loads of patience. MT is been written off already because of mistakes made not by him but ones before. I do agree he’s not getting his message across and it looks dreadful but to some of our fans that’s just not good enough he’s making excuses and out of his depth right?

It’s not working at the moment but maybe it will.
YAK you are spot on but I believe imo that T/S is convinced we can survive with the money he spends.

I think this is a fair point, but it works both ways. As an incoming manager, knowing the way the team had played and knowing how successful that style had been, I would have expected MT to take a long term view. IE. continue to play the style of football that the team were comfortable with and which had delivered results until such time as he could bring in players that suited the style he wished us to play. He's moved too early to a new system which the players are obviously not happy with or are not capable of playing - frustrating and a wasted opportunity.

    Really Tony? Here and now.

How many years have we been told this and that to be given false hopes.

All we want is a team that can compete at the level we are at, and after numerous failures including the upcoming failure enough is enough.

The foresight of our board is small time, look at the state of the club shop for example.

So what he saved the club, so did Ken booth.

    Don’t know mate.

For years it’s been an objective to get a team that can survive in the Championship. The midfield is good enough, the defence is a makeshift melange of experience which could be strong enough.
The forrud line is none existent.

£1m spent on a couple of forwards may do it.

Tony Stewart won't spend £1 on transfer fees in January

Not a chance TS will spend £1m on two players. He doesn't have that available cash without putting his other busineses in jeopardy. It's not going to happen and some on here ought to have a reality check sooner rather than later.
What decent quality players would want to come to a club that will be in the bottom three and fighting relegation?

But there will be players agents begging for contracts in the summer, when players contracts have run out.

I know the likely hood of ts spending is low

He doesn’t have to spend it on permanent signings though. Paying salaries is the big problem. Maybe the answer is we were to get some good strikers on loan who we wouldn’t normally be able buy or afford for the rest of the season

Well something is very definitely wrong. It is for the Chairman to back the Manager and give him the tools to do the job. Sell Ogbene & replace with players who want to be here.
Big concern about the Manager saying wait for Kelly & Hall. No, it has to be done right now. Get a goalscorer in NOW. Jack Marriott can leave Peterborough, so that would be a good start. Waiting until the end of the transfer deadline would be a disaster.

To get relegated in a very poor league would be a disaster and 100% we would not come back any time soon. This must not happen.

From the outside it seems that there is no planning. If the chairman is happy meandering around in the third division thats fine but say so, rather than come out with guff about reaching the Premiership.

I am fast falling out of love with a club I first watched live in 1965 and have seen some great times and some poor times. Tell me I’m spoiled, but, even though we are in the Championship, our drop off a cliff style performance reminds me of the latter half of last season, but with some players either who seemingly don’t want to be here because of the wages or whatever. Some of the signings under Warne were either not good enough or injury prone.
Injuries play a part and my heart goes out to Wiles & Kelly, but we seem to suffer more than most with muscular injuries/strains. Maybe that is the high intensity with which we have played, but injuries can also become an excuse when not performing well.

If whatever it is is not sorted out pronto then we will be bottom and stay there, which considering our performances earlier this season, would be a total shambles.

The way we are now, I cannot see where the next point is coming from and the fight is not there. It’s back to the bad old days of knowing the result before the game is played. Rotherham Nil. The team with the soft underbelly.

I have changed my forecast for Millwall from 1-1 to 0-4.

    Happy New Year
