Wrexham have dropped points in 3 games that they have led. Notts have done so in 4 games. Just to add to this that Wrexham have dropped points in 3 games without scoring. Notts once.

So your point isn’t factually correct.

That's what we are all hoping.

It starts with the tinkerman team selection - arrogant in itself, as well as negative. Why can't we play 2 strikers all of a sudden? Against a team in the relegation zone? Did we buy Langstaff and Scott just to alternate them?
Bostock and Palmer is duplication. Yeah Cameron at LWB didn't work - poor composure on his crosses.
All in all, how not to go about getting a frontrunning win away to a team at the bottom.
100%. Inevitable that they were going to be stronger than Boxing Day and away at a team needing to scrap is never the time to make unenforced changes.

Fine margins though, even though we weren't great a horrible cockup cost us and if we'd kept Langstaff on you'd fancy him to get on the end of one of the late crosses.

(Boundary Park isn't a place I remember Notts winning at too often, either.) At least we didn't lose; now we need to beat Aldershot on Saturday and get back on track. Then do the same against Boreham Wood.

We also need to forget about Wrexham - they may well overtake us as some point, but we just need to concentrate on our own performances. 58 points after 25 games is still phenomenal, and hopefully it will be 64 from 27 by January 10.
Exactly, it’s been an unbelievable first half of the season, plenty of twist and turns to go and don’t rule out Chesterfield being involved, their just ticking over nicely in the shadows, we just need to concentrate on ourselves.

I'll stand by what I wrote because in the first half of the home game we showed clear superiority over them and the 4-1 scoreline in no way flattered us. After that? We play 2 hrs and 15 mins of parity with them, with the mindset that we can score when we need to so why bother trying all that hard.....and we wouldn't want to embarrass them, would we?

Regarding Ruben's bad game, all you can say in his defence is that LW isn't picking enough players who play in front of him. He needs targets to hit ahead of him, to utilise his greatest strength.

Disappointing today, but not the end of the world. Can't expect us to win every game or never make a mistake.
    It's funny because it's true.

First half was toothless. We didn't create much at all and just looked like we were going through the motions
Second half better but we looked vulnerable after giving possession away cheaply
Nemane was the threat and Scott looked dangerous when he came one but i though too many players weren't at it today
Brindley looks to casual making passes, needs a bit more intensity when on the ball
Bostock wanted to much time on the ball and ended up mirroring what Palmer is there to do
Austin looked sharp first half and felt he should've stayed on and Ruben should have been subbed for Scott
Disappointed but good atmosphere from Notts fans for a change and a point away from home against a team that will climb the table

It’s really hard not to let the inherent Notts pessimism creep in after a result/performance(?) like todays. I left the ground feeling rather like some on this thread appear to be feeling but I hope the players and management are made of sterner stuff.

Oldham we’re much much better than they were on Boxing Day, it would be hard not to be really, but we were still the better team and we’re undone by an absolute clanger at the back and a dubious penalty from a nothing ball into the box. We aren’t getting torn apart at the back but when those early direct balls are played into the opposition target men we do look vulnerable…especially because we like to ply a high press and it leaves us short at the back sometimes.

I’m not sure Palmer and Bostock worked very well, though that’s not why we didn’t win. Thought Cameron did ok at LWB, though not as good as I think he could be there. I dunno, certainly jo time to panic and get negative about team selections etc. LW has a small squad of players and has got his rotations pretty much spot on so far.

Not the best way to start the new year, but we may well have lost that in times past. Wrexham and Chesterfield are strong but so are we, it is just important to bounce back with three points next Saturday, which isn’t a ‘gimme’ by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully Ruben will have come around from whatever he was suffering with today too.
