BUT,

I REALLY think we should get Beilik back, and that’s despite never personally being too impressed with him on a consistent basis. I’ll go with y’all’s probably more astute observations, that he was a class act against Championship opponents. That SHOULD mean he would (relatively) be even more class in League 1

OK he’s going to ‘cost’ but we are all actually guessing whether he’s affordable, and would you rather have one Beilik or three journeymen/benchwarmers. Beilik might actually make the difference in midfield that an on-form McGoldrick does up front.

We are being tightly controlled wages wise by EFL but Beilik was already on the books, my guess is he’s fully owned and I can think of ways money wise of being able to ‘afford’ a half season cameo from him.

I don’t believe PW will be satisfied with anything less than promotion whatever he says to the press, he’ll look where we are (‘safe’ from relegation) and now want the maximum he can muster within our constraints to go sh** or bust for promotion, and I reckon Beilik is quality he can’t get elsewhere to help with that

Maybe I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one
We aren't guessing he is affordable - his wages are £20k a week. Most at Derby are on max of £5k a week. Therefore Beilik would potentially prevent 4 players being signed.

I agree he should be quality at league 1 level and would make a difference, the gamble of course being that he would need to stay fit, he would be a very expensive injury to carry!

You say you would rather have him than 2 or 3 "bench warmers"/ journeymen, but those signed have proven to be worth their wages and of course it might be that a couple of quality loans can be obtained, from championship clubs with a view to purchase/signing on a free in the summer. Can't see Warne signing players for the sake of it, whoever he brings in will be able to do the job he wants.

Its a possibility I agree, though I would have expected him to be recalled now the window is open, but I would be very surprised if by the end of the window, Beilik is not either still on loan at Birmingham or has been sold.
