Ive seen him on his every appearance, and to be honest i dont think he his an improvement on what we already have. That's my opinion for what its worth. I also think JOB offers more of an attacking threat than him. I sincerely hope this is not just giving a place to an old mate..
Just got back off holiday and settled in with my new half season streaming ticket and sat down to watch the new improved Notts. Was very disappointed.
I'd have preferred us to draw the match 0-0, as going to a grim away ground against a team battling to stay up this can happen. But to take the lead and throw it away like we did was hard to watch.
Austin dithering in possession, Slocombe's latest brainfart, then more poor play leading to concession of a stupid free kick and Cameron somehow giving a penalty away with no danger whatsoever.
I get that we will drop points in hard away games but this wasn't really a hard away game. They were very limited and that should've been a routine gritty boring win for us.
I’d say he strengthens the squad from what I’ve seen so far. I think it’s unfair to draw a line under him, as he’s still finding his match fitness but I have to admit, I think he slows us down in possession.
He’s a totally different player to JOB.
JOB takes gambles and likes to make runs forwards, so is better when you’re pushing for goals. However, he gives the ball away a lot. Bostock seems the complete opposite. Sits deeper, slows the play but never gives it away.
In hindsight we should have started with JOB yesterday and introduced Bostock at 2-1.
I need more than just 2 starts to be able to evaluate a player. It's very very early days so I will reserve judgement.
Agree with KTD he's appears a totally different player to JOB, more Francis/Palmer like, so it's not a great comparison.
Tbh even if he's no better than what we have but there isn't much in it, then it adds a nice extra level of depth during a very hectic January and beyond.
Good question. I'm not aware of him saving one. He seems to go the wrong way every time.
I remember Anthony Patterson's fantastic save from Paul Mullin's penalty against Wrexham last season.
I'm old enough to remember the great penalty saves of Barry Watling in the 70s. Can anybody remind me how many he saved that season?
