There is a comparison with warmest team last season compared to the previous league 1covid cancel season...

The common factor was injurys. Last season we lost first team regular in REG Miller and Ladaop through injury. We went through a period getting 4 points from 18.
Then the injurys return we sneek a late winner and sneek over the line on the last day.

The covid season we lost Linsey olosunde and mattock. I recall the last game before covid we played billy Jones at LB and wiles LW with I think Thompson at RB.

Warnes team struggled playing against teams like Shrewsbury Rochdale ect with 3 or 4 main players missing. MT has had to endure injury and illness to far more players and he playing better teams. MT took over had a decent start. The injurys kicked in and it was all down hill. Kelly, Washington, eaves, wiles, hall, Humphreys, kioso,. Bola, Ferguson, bramhall,. Are the names I can remember remember being injured whilst MT has been manager.
He needs a break in luck because what he's trying to do will give us a better chance of staying in the championship going forward than playing the warne way.
Btw I'm not saying MT is a better manager than warne just different styles of playing.
though for the players we can afford MT style will suit us in the championship more than it would in league 1...
Will he keep us up. I would say comfortable with the squad we have before the world cup. Now it's down to his management skills as injury. Illness and players being distracted by moves away are not helping.
Imo the 5 players who's contract are up this summer should have had a deadline to sign. Eg 31st Dec.
If they don't sign Mt needs to decide if a sale or retaining them before loosing them for nowt is best for the club.
Will TS back MT? Well imo there's a pot of cash each season. Once it's gone it's gone. Has warne spent this cash? I don't know and I'm sure others wouldn't know.
If we ship out/sell 3 or 4 players then MT should be able to replace them. Will the money be available for over and above this amount. This will show and when we can say TS is backing MT...

Your words Mr Stewart. Let's see if you translate them into action.
    Don’t hold your breath.

I've already said sell who won't sign a new contract use money to strengthen.

Difficult to disagree with that but where are these players that will strengthen our team?

Players over £1 million are out

We can only sign players made available by other clubs

    Plus if available then why?

Cant compete, simple as that. Why? Because we have 7000 season ticket holders and about 1500 floating fans, we cant even sell out our home stands in a very small stadium capacity wise. Secondly we have a rich but not wealthy chairman, theres a world of difference between rich and wealthy. Pretty sure none of the worlds billionaires will be looking to purchase RUFC.

The calls on social media for TS to put up or sell are completely embarrassing.

People need to be careful what they wish for in my opinion.

Exactly. Unbelievable that people think that we can buy in form proven players from teams that are willing to let them go underneath the noses of your Wigans and Cardiffs, even if Stewart did pay more than we can sensibly afford. Only hope is to take a punt on promising lower league player or overseas but the chances of them hitting the ground running are low. But at least its a chance

Like the Millwall fan said about their signing Flemming

Scouted and signed from a club on the continent

Would we do that? Let alone pay that type of money?

I’ve been trying to get into thick heads 😉 about injuries and illness but to no avail
