Thread: Brentford

    Brentford

Got to give them a fair bit of credit. Big result against Liverpool.

They stick to their style of play and are committed.

Recruit well and able to replace those they sell. Small ground which holds about 26k yet don’t seem to have trouble buying in players. Means they have round pegs in round holes.

Intelligent Coach & the lure of London helps - does it not ?

Allegedly its 'Grim up North' if your living inside the M25 & even in Europe they believe that 'saying'

I live fairly close so keep an eye on them - their recruitment policy is exceptional and uses moneyball principles to identify value where others don’t see it. Sister club Midtjylland operates in the same way with similar success.

Brentford itself isn’t the most attractive bit of West London though:

A very good footballing side, nearly as good as the Clarets. 😁

They are good defensively and when they have possession they use it really well - on 30% possession they managed 7 shots on target - one more than Liverpool.

HNY Alf and I suspect you will find a certain Mr A Campbell agrees with you.

Liverpool looked much better in the second half, but the damage had been done in the first 45 minutes.

    No Toney either!

Amazing what you can do with good tactics and a well coached system.

I refuse to believe their squad is any better than ours as a whole, they've got a good striker and better full backs but the rest is fairly even.

Probably the best run club in the prem dollar for dollar.

Agree with Rev that there is something about that smug face that makes you want to smack it. almost as bad as that goober that used to coach Huddersfield.
