    Of course Northampton Town would fulfill the criteria for being automatically promoted in 3rd place by having finished with a minimum number of 1 point more than 4th. They would be clear of the minimum requirement by at least 3 points. That does not of course affect what the minimum requirement was and is. It was and is to finish with 1 point more than 4th place.

    We are of course not getting into goal difference issues. This is solely about points.
