Another sweeping post by you.
I have not sent an email to Dundee Football Club for ages apart from the one I sent to Greg Fenton, General Manager of Dundee Football Club on Friday 13th December 2023 asking if the Club were planning an early pitch inspection for the Partick Thistle game the following day to avoid the very late cancellation of the SPFL Trust cup tie against Dunfermline. I also mentioned in my email a solution to make it easier to clean the seats in the Main Stand, Bobby Cox Stand and Bob Shankly Stand as a result of watching the Raith Rovers v Dundee game televised live on the BBC Scotland channel on Friday 6th January 2023.
This was because for the first time ever since this daft all ticket scheme for only Dundee supporters was introduced after post Covid as I had decided not to purchase my ticket until the last minute even if it meant being in a queue outside the ticket office one hour before the kickoff.
When I did not receive a reply from Greg Fenton. I sent a message to the SLO who immediately replied and said that he had contacted the cLub with my query.
I eventually received a reply from Greg Fenton advising me that an early pitch inspection had taken place at 10am and the game had been cancelled.
In my email to Greg Fenton on Friday 13th January 2023 I also put forward a simple solution to help avoid the seats in the Main Stand, Bobby Cox Stand and Bob Shankly Stand being covered in seagull droppings as a result of watching the Raith Rovers v Dundee game on BBC Scotland on Friday 6th January 2023.
That is simple.
The unused seats in both the stand used by Raith Rovers supporters and the stand used by Dundee supporters were sitting in the upright position which means there is less area on the seats for bird droppings to land on.
I suggested in my email to Greg Fenton that an announcement could be made at half time and full time asking spectators in all the stands apart from the South Enclosure Stand asking them to leave their seats in the upright position.
I further added that the club could ask for volunteers to remain after the end of each home game to ensure that all the seats in these stands are put in the upright position.
With the attendances we are currently getting at Dens Park it should not take too long after the end of each game to put the remaining seats that spectators have not put in upright position, back in the upright position.
If that is the case then how come the area of the seat people sit on including the part next to their back in the Main Stand had seagull droppings on them.
It is getting to stage that Dundee supporters sitting in the Main Stand will have to put their old clothes on.
You will note in my post that I never mentioned the seats in the South Enclosure Stand as they are not tip up seats.
