First half of your post is bang on…..
The 2nd is not!
We got hosed 5-0 at home to Ayr United with a squad 10 times worse than this
I can't believe we are miles behind the St Mirren's and Livingston's of this world, No quality no fight no passion of wearing the shirt, worst squad of so called players for many a year including our spell in the championship. I'm totally depressed with how the club is going.

with our budget and a well run club we should be 6th at worst. something is wrong. Thats if we perform at an average level. If the pieces fall into place we can shoot higher. Bottom of the pile.
Turnover DUFC £8.3m
Livingston £3.0m
St Mirren £4.0m

The sheep Shaggers are equally shyte with a much bigger budget than us, it simply can't just be about budget.
I believe there is a long standing discontent there for maybe 15 years, it seems managers arrive with some new players have a happy reaction (sometimes) then the existing virus sets in......... Find the common thread.
I mean if you look at pts taken in recent months we still 11 more than say Motherwell and Killie is the first really poor result since we returned where we got less pts than you'd expect
Hearts (h) draw, could have taken the 3 but soft late pen denied us
County (h) won
Saintees (a) won
Sevco (h) loss
Hibs (a) draw, sickener to lose the late goal but his performance
Celtic (h) loss
Killie (a) first really poor performance in ages and less than you'd expect from the game, missed penalty of course changed the game
Think we are in danger of getting too negative after the transfer window being poor and forgetting thr recent progress, let's not derail ourselves, the team can bounce back in coming games and the others have to face the big two also
We can bounce back at Hearts? Maybe but I really don't fancy us. If we play like we did yesterday we'll get walloped. ☹️
Maybe not, it's a difficult venue but you wouldn't expect to take much from there currently, there are fixtures after that of we get back to prior form at Easter Rd etc and the home games against the non old form where we've been winning the important ones comfortably
Did hear a story today from younger supporters suggesting there is a United supporting businessman with a few bob interested in buying the club.
