I've been informed that some "pride" events held in schools are not centred around LGBTQ and that this is often deliberately mis-interpreted by the press when such events are actually designed for children to be encouraged to celebrate and take pride in their own achievements whether that be academic or in sports or a hobby or whatever as a means of making them feel good about themselves. Nothing inherently wrong in that (although, as a born again Christian, Mrs Montague thinks there is as "pride is one of the 7 sins" &#128512 but I understand that this is not the case here.
