Like most of us,we know or work with a Sheff Utd fan and the one I'm good mates with has told me all season how ''average'' this division is.I think most of us realise after all the seasons we have spent in it over recent years this year doesn't seem as perilous. The Blades are not 10 points clear with a game in hand of third for no reason though. It certainly isn't luck.We competed incredibly well today and ,although under a certain amount of pressure,we were never stretched and the 8 minutes of added time seem to pass without any tension or drama. Given our 7 signings and our last three results it is very hard to see how we could get relegated and we must bear in mind that, well into February,we still haven't been in the bottom 3.
I have been saying for a while how average this league is. At the beginning of the season I forecast 14th and I have no reason to change my mind.
Today the back four were absolutely awesome! Best games ever for Humphries and Leo, very noticeable improvements? Hall and Pelts were brilliant, top of their game ?
Rathbone was his usually perpetual motion best, ably assisted by Odoffin who probably also had his best game, Fossu had a great second half and Coventry grew into the game as long as it went on, Hugill looked strong and lively, but doubt he will be a big goal scorer !
Most disappointing display was from our goalkeeper, only because he had much less to do today than normal ?
I didn’t realise we were the third highest scorers at home in the league this season until PH mentioned it today.
Only the top two better us.

A credible 12th home form. Ok only 2 away wins but in fairness Sheff Utd & Stoke wouldn’t have been the two I would have picked at the start of the season
