    Nathan Jones Fired

Southampton sack him after 3 months - lost 9 out of 14 Why couldnt they see he would be hopeless before hiring him?

He was doing well at Luton then left them for ‘the big job at Stoke’. The failed and lo and behold, Luton take him back, where he does very well again. Then another ‘big one’ comes along and off he goes again. Just maybe, Luton was his level. Sometimes, we just have to accept that we have a level of ability, I suspect that Mr Jones exceeded his.

Jones is one of the best managers/coaches in Europe.
He apparently told us so a couple of weeks ago
Small man syndrome comes to mind

Perhaps it wasn’t Jones’ influence that made Luton successful, but the players. They’re doing just as well now, if not better, with the current management.

Doing well and building a good team in the EFL is one thing, managing a team in the Premier League with the unrealistic expectations of some of their foreign owners is something else altogether. The only upside, maybe, is the big payoff but it must be a knock to someone’s self esteem. There is no other ‘industry’ like it!

Football would be more stable if a rule was put in place that from day one of the season you could only use the management team you have in place.

If the manager has to leave for whatever reason then it’s “next man up” from the coaching staff.

I think your manager and squad should be set in stone at day one, I also believe that every club should have to lodge enough funds to cover their wage bill for the season into an escrow account.

If that rule of yours had been in place this season, we would be stuck with Bruce and be headed for League One.
