By all this had happened I was referring to the widespread media coverage

Apart from that what’s the issue?
Read your first paragraph again, it’s gibberish......what’s does “first witness tide him die die due to having an appointment” even mean?

I’m not being funny BS......I just couldn’t work out what you were trying to say?

The only thing that I understood that I don’t agree with is the skin colour reference.

Look at the case of the Asian lady who was stabbed to death walking home last year, that was huge news, got massive media coverage, people of all races came together over that and the culprit was quickly apprehended from memory.

As I said previously, I’m no cheerleader for our police but they are usually good at this stuff regardless of ethnicity.....and to be fair, there’s plenty of police of colour in higher positions these days.

I can’t see how you can dispute that
She is being called out for her supposed social status both on here and in other media.

You’re the one who brought ethnicity into this with your “melanin” comment.

As for the media, I can’t believe that this would have received less profile had it been a 45 year old Asian woman BS......I just don’t.

10-15 years ago, yes, I would absolutely agree with you but not now.

On a different point, last night on FB I called out a very old friend of mine who’d written a FB reply to a post about this subject where some woman had posted that Nicola’s partner was “clearly guilty”......my mate replied and agreed and said....”it’s in his eyes”.

The woman replied and said.....”yes,he reminds me of Ian Huntley!! 😳

Social media is a really horrible place at times.

Apparently, some walkers found a stained glove yards from where the lady was last seen. Does seem to throw a new light on the disappearance. It also begs the question as to how the police didn’t find it if it was found at the last spot that she was actually seen. Where were they looking? Doesn’t give you a lot of confidence in the police investigation.

Did you watch that police media s h I t show earlier today.

It seems that the public are at fault for their fiasco.

Also, all this stuff coming out now about her having “specific vulnerabilities” which suggested she’s topped herself.

Given this bombshell I find it remarkable that it’s taken until this point to be mentioned and more to the point, I’m astonished that her partner didn’t mention this in the TV programme he did on Channel 5 last week.

The lady is missing, very likely dead so why on Earth this “vulnerability” has to be a secret is beyond me?

The police had a very defensive and arrogant attitude in this press conference in my opinion.

I have just been reading this and couldn't make sense out of the press release. I read it but got even more confused.
So what are they thinking now, or can anyone tell?

They don't know anything other than everything is the public's fault even though they were incapable of taking away the bench and creating a sterile scene!!

They are now saying that the glove is irrelevant How do they know this? It obviously doesn’t belong to the lady concerned but it could belong somebody who is involved. I don’t understand why they can rule it out unless they know who it actually does belong to. Everything regarding this case is strange.

Aside from their failure to secure the forensic integrity of the bench area, it seems to me that the criticism levelled at the Police ( by those who have some expertise in the area )around focussing for far too long on the "drowning" scenario rather than adapting a more blanket "missing person" approach is spot on. We all know that time is a crucial factor in such cases yet their primary focus on the river may well have meant that other scenarios (e.g. abduction) were not explored in time.

Difficult to comment based on just press reports and Police statements but certainly seems that whoever is leading this investigation has made some serious errors
