This is why we were all better off with Sturgeon
No this is why the dictatorship style leadership approach doesn't work in the long term. We need a proven, talented, experienced, self-confident leader who is willing to surround him/herself with the best talents that are willing to challenge the leader when he/she is wrong. Not seeing it at the moment, which is a failure of Sturgeon, given any high quality organisation is always looking at succession planning
The SNP differs slightly, on account that the party is effectively split into two parts. I’m sure there’s a few in the Westminster group that would love a wee shot but aren’t prepared to do a stint in Holyrood. Not enough showbiz
I think that’s the reason NS stayed for so long, not because SHES A POWER HUNGRY B1TCH
Not sure I follow. She stayed so long because the party is split across MP's and MSP's, which it has been since 1999 and since when MP's know they can't by leader of the SNP (other than Salmond for a brief spell when he fudged the rules)? Or she stayed so long as there was no obvious successor, which she largely was responsible for?
The SNP are a political party, certainly not a high quality organisation.
Shouldn't be succession planning, just a candidate with enough savvy to con the party membership to vote them in and then onto the electorate that they will lead us into utopia. No modern day politician is going to surround themself with people of an equal/higher calibre than thenselves. They all want nodding dogs who they can pacify with an occassional bone to keep them happy and get rid if the going gets tough.
The law that was passed in our parliament and supported by more than just the SNP.
Good on the tories in London though for stepping into to the breach and keep us right, where would we be without them.
I know your feelings on the matter DD, but it will become law sooner rather than later.
