    There’s probably plenty talented people in every nook and cranny of the planet, but who have no desire to mire themselves in the filthy marshes of party politics. It takes a special sort of sado-masochist or embezzler to dive into those swamps.

    Nah. I couldn't see that working. It's bad enough with people who volunteer - for whatever reason - to serve.

    Just scrutiny and accountability of those who are voted in by a fairer system than FPTP (nothing to do with a hun slogan, of course).

    The executives of parliaments especially.

    Hell yes. That would be a real democracy. With technology developing as fast as it is, you could have a population voting in many major decisions.

    Would need a massive change in our education system to get people up to the required level for it to work though.
