    Motty RIP

Farewell to the Salford born lad in the trademark sheepskin coat. A fine football commentator who had a knack for finding the right phrase. Many of our current crop of match commentators could learn a thing or two from his tradecraft.

RIP Motty, not my favourite commentator by a million miles, so I'll leave the eulogies to others.

SD & Me we liked him.

Everton boss Sean Dyche also paid tribute to Motson at his pre-match news conference on Thursday before Saturday's game with Aston Villa.

"It's a sad loss," said Dyche. "He was a legend.

"When you met him a few times, like I did, he was a top fella as well."
