It’s not a complaint mate honestly nor do I want to start a row.. apologies if it came across that way so with an apology I will retire from posting on this thread as I have said before, Religion & Politics are a different subject to the football ethos of these platforms 🤲

I never wanted the original post to be on here as the majority don't believe in God so it was always going to be one sided,Frank says that giving up religion would be like giving his parents to the Germans and fully understand what he means,it's just not as simple as waking up in the morning and deciding that religion is all a fairytale and not think about it again as i think about it most days one way or another
The Dawkins quote that 6EQUJ5 put on here (post 2 ) was very uncomfortable reading and immediately stopped me from clicking on the link,Griffs post about God (singular) being invented to keep the downtrodden masses in place has some merit but Christianity still has such a large following after tens of thousands of years surely it should have faded into the past such as the Gods that Pharaoh's, Aztecs and ilk believed in?
It's not a problem that cannot be solved overnight and tbh it's doubtful that I will fully reject God so I suppose I shouldn't have brought the subject up on the A and B board
Here’s a philosophical question; if a God ceases to have any followers or believers, does that God exist? Terry Pratchett had much to say on the subject.
If God didn't have any followers or believers here on earth he certainly would in heaven so yes he would exist
As I posted on the A&B website it’s not a question of belief if God exists in any religion.. it’s a question of beliefs we were all brought up with.. as much as I would prefer to be a Jedi Knight.. I’m not
I know that religion gives many people solace. For others it centres them and gives them a starting point for thinking things through. From that standpoint it’s a good thing. It gives my Mum comfort in her final years so I can’t be critical, can I?
No Griff bless ❤️
Last post.. might go & prey Sunday for Dale survival in the league 🙏
Did your mum go to church when she was able Griff?
If she did was you also taken along when you was younger and why did you stop believing?
When she was poorly I can remember you saying how she suddenly started singing a hymn, did you ever find out why she liked that hymn in particular or where she learnt it?
