McInnes, like Calderwood, lived and died on recruitment.
When we were signing Barry Nicholson and Scott Severin we did OK.
When we were signing Mark Kerr et al, nae so much.

For the Mcinnes era, read Rooney, McLean, Shinnie and Curtis Main (and a host of loan deals from lower down the Wendy league).

It was scattergun and lacked a long term strategic approach ("but we nearly signed Ryan Christie......") in both eras.

I said when McInnes left there was no point in getting rid in isolation, the club needed, and still needs, an overhaul.

A few gems have come out of Cormack Park, but nothing like enough.
Scouting and recruitment still falls short.

Let's start by getting a DoF that has half an idea about development, scouting and recruitment and take it from there.

I remember a guy with a similar user name to yours coming on here as far back as 2013 claiming we could easily bring a better manager in than McInnes.

How’s that working out so far?

The club have certainly made hard work of it. As Donsdaft says…McInnes was a boring b@stard of a manager. He also sh@t the bed against Celtic etc. His time was up and in reality we should have then appointed a proper decent manager. Dave Cormack is fully to blame.

Not sure he’s responsible for the managerial appointments or has agreed with one since Ebbe got the job. You would need to take that up with him though.

I never said any one on here was responsible for the managerial appointments but a fair few people on here said we could easily get a better manager than McInnes.

Just over 2 years after firing him the top candidates for the job are a nutter a has been and McInnes

Just goes to show how much of a shambles we are in if the fmb appoint any of them.

ABERDEEN chief executive Alan Burrows insists the Dons will look outside the usual suspects as they attempt to fill their managerial vacancy.

Have a good read of the article folks….Neil Lennon isn’t one of the usual suspects linked with the Aberdeen job and every other Scottish managers job. Burrows specifically said that he will consider those who haven’t even applied or even thought they had little chance of getting the job. We know him and Neil Lennon are good friends. Lennon could well be appointed Aberdeen manager but not start his job until April.

None of that makes any sense

Who are the usual suspects who get linked with the Aberdeen job?

    Stuart Baxter
