Thing is, I remember when I were a young lad in the Lane End… the old buggers in the Main Stand used to make a right racket….
mainly “Counteh! clap clap clap… Counteh!… clap clap clap”.

The smell of woodbines and bovril drifting across the ground…
I remember that smell so well 😊

I have always sat in the Pavis stand on all bar 3 occasions. Once in the Kop, once in an Executive box and once in the Jimmy Sirrel versus Arsenal in a friendly.

The Exec Box Experience was 'a glad I did it once but never again' sort of experience. It was a night game so glad to be warm but nowt else.

The Jimmy Sirrel had a better atmosphere unsurprisingly but the view wasn't as good and you have the sun in your eyes. A poor man's Pavis.

And as for the Kop, naturally the best for atmosphere, noticeably more embarrassing for idiots and above all a view of the pitch I just don't like unless I'm in an away section. It's hard to tell what's happening in the other half of the pitch, who fouled who, and you can forget most offside decisions.

I didn't choose the old Main Stand/Pavis, the old Main Stand/Pavis chose me.... and I'm very happy about that.

I have been in all 4 sides of the ground at one time or another & without a doubt the Pavis gives the best view, unfortunately in my experience it also contains the most miserable & negative, moaning "fans" I have ever encountered. Having got a ST I found I couldn't sit in my chosen seat without having my enjoyment ruined by a group who seemed to take great delight in picking on a player (it seemed to change every game) & slagging him off all game, this even extended one game to a player who was warming up to come on as sub. I am now back in the Kop & although I would agree it's not perfect at least I can enjoy a reasonable atmosphere.

I think I know that 'group' in the DP and yes they seem to take great delight in being miserable, negative and moaning lots throughout the game, and every home game. They do however reluctantly applaud briefly when we score, I've even on occasion seen a smile.

The positives and negatives of each stand is there for all to see or hear.

For me it’s the best view, I’ve never got to grips with watching games from behind the goal and only do if I go to away games. What I really don’t understand and apologies in advance is people that sit right at the front, good to be close to the action but an extremely hard view, each to their own I guess.

We have a great team and a fantastic chance of regaining league status - it won't be given to us, we're going to have to take it
Yeah completely agree with this. We should have absolutely no fear of the playoffs. It’s not like other years where they’ll be teams who are obviously better than us or we’ve had glaring weaknesses. We’d be massive favourites to win them and I would expect us to.

Still in with a decent shot of the title though, no reason at all we can’t win 10 out of 10 if that’s what’s required.

Normally "Counteh clap clap clap" but on special occasions you would get the chant of "SuperNotts" echoing around the ground, bring them back Pavis !!!

I wish posters would stop referring to chanting as singing, thank you.

I used to sit in Main Stand D block and the noise we could generate from stomping on the wooden floor along with the clap, clap, clap was pretty impressive. Doesn't seem to work on concrete
