    Now that Mrs Murrell is stepping down, why is it automatic that the leader of the biggest party is elected First Minister? SnP does not have a majority so why not get an independent MSP to be FM? Dundee has had Lord Provosts who were not from the largest bloc of councillors and it seemed to work well. It would reduce the cult of personality and give policy decisions greater importance, imo.

    Hoping that SNP might actually become a party for Scotland rather than a party for independence. It's called the Scottish National Party not the Scottish Independence Party, so maybe they could bin independence and just be looking to help Scotland to make the most of being part of the UK?

    It's not automatic it goes to a vote I think.

    Be interesting if Forbes won.
