Napier the ref Saturday was terrible for us earlier in the season too and he had a clear view, took time to think about it and still decided to point to the spot, why??

    Human bias, need foreign refs
He did take an age to give it, perfect position too, like many I thought he'd actually blown, having decided to go back and book main for diving.

VAR is not the problem it is the people using it that is the problem. The referees on the pitch are extremely poor but they only get one look before they make their decision but those in the studio could watch it for as long as they like and still not get it correct. Stuart Douglas on Vardict, ex ref so he will defend them all day long, said that there was minimal contact but at the very least the VAR official should’ve told the ref to have a second look. The only thing I could query is the VAR official seeing the same pictures as BBC Scotland showing.
Should Main be up in front of the SFA for simulation?

As they did on Saturday. 8 minutes injury time ffs.

Anyway, it may not do anything to help our case from the weekend, but the issue has well & and truly been raised. Sky Sports headline news tonight. I don't think this will go away quite as easy as the SFA wish. Nice to see our club leading from the front on an issue like this for a change.

VAR getting highlighted on Reporting Scotland this evening. Not sure getting rid of it is the answer though. The referee gave a penalty, so that would have still stood.

Still can’t believe a separate pair of eyes still thought that was a penalty. Utterly baffling.
These were the decisions VAR was brought in to overturn.
For me, Main should get a 2-3 game ban. Players like him would soon cut it out of their game.

Also now seen the St.Johnstone handball v Kilmarnock. The Offside goal that sevco were awarded, and the ‘red card’ awarded against Hibs v Celtic. The usual suspects are the usual beneficiaries yet again.

The problem is, the schite VAR referee, is every bit as bad as the schite on-field referee.

I think a panel of a couple of ex-pros alongside a VAR referee, would work better
“Open all mics” have access to the VAR screens during the game, and THEY come up with the correct decision almost every single time.

[QUOTE=Shedboy_Shimmy;40244536] The referee gave a penalty, so that would have still stood.

If VAR wasn't a thing then I doubt the ref gives a penalty. He only gave it because he knew VAR would make the decision for him

The ref and Main should be given match bans and the whole VAR team should be sacked. Its actually mind boggling that the penalty wasn't given or overturned and no way it would have been given against the uglies. That's a FACT.

Sadly, I think the officials are that bad, that I think he probably does still give a penalty.

You are 100% correct in saying that penalty would never given against either of the erse-cheeks.

The likes of Neil McCann and Richard Foster making decisions that affect the outcome of Dundee United games? Nah you're alright.

Alright, we’re better carrying on as we are then.

Funny that you chose THOSE 2 pundits, as both of them analysed it on Sportscene, and neither thought it was a penalty….
One actually said on the show ‘Main throws himself down. It boils my blood’.

Yeah, doesn't make up for the other guff they've come out with this season though. And I never said we're better carrying on as we are.

Just a point of clarification. Var cannot overturn a referees decision.
It can only recommend that the referee looks at the incident again. The referee can stick with his original decision.
But it does appear that the ref will always accept what var tells them.
We can assume that the idiot var on Saturday actually agreed with the referees decision that it was a penalty. Which as already been pointed out makes var useless.
