The crown will plainly show the prisoner who now stands before you was caught red-handed stealing children... stealing children from orphanages on the front line of a war zone, and (gasp!)... adopting them out!

For all the things that Al Capone probably did it was tax evasion that got him.

That's a devasting defence to article 8(2)(a)(vii) and article 8(2)(b)(viii) of the Rome Statute. Certainly no case to answer then, you've enlightened us as always.

In light of the separation referendums (2014) followed by those to join Russia (2012), Russia legally sees these as their own territories. Therefore they don’t agree that either of the Rome statutes cited above apply, even if Russia was signatory to them, which they aren’t. Not to mention a few other features, such as the ICC is clearly not an impartial body backed by constitutional governance, nor does it apply its supposed laws consistently. As such, this is simply political posturing.

The Russians will simply ignore this. Or maybe they’ll even pass a law and call it something along the lines of “The Hague Invasion Act.” Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

Hey Andy, why don't you talk football here, or leave?

    Why are you here?

You're clearly just using this board to campaign in favour of war crimes, which is pathetic and disgusting.

Whichever way you want to see Putin's posturing and interpret his verbal juggling Andy, whether the children were in Ukrainian or Russion territory, it doesn't alter the fact that they were just abducted from there and it doesn't allow him to do what he wants with them. His intentions have been seen as a way to brainwash these kids into thinking they are Russian and then allow them to return home to spread discontent among families and communities who were confident they were Ukrainian. Him saying they were in a land that used to be part of Russia so he can do what he wants with them is unacceptable to any civilised society.
