Aye. There you go. Not so highbrow after all ?!!

My Parents took me to see The Pirates of Penzance at Her Majesty`s when I was a young lad.

( And this was the part of song that stuck in my mind)

RJ - have you ever trodden the boards? Any major roles you fancy?

I had the assistant lampie gig for Pirates at school in 1972 or 73, and did HMS Pinafore two years before, but I was just an onlooker. We saw a good production of Pirates at HMT about 5/6 years ago (an orchestra’s aye a sight to see, and a delight to hear), and I quite often dig out some G&S on Spotify as a bit of a change from Chicago and Delta blues, and ranting leftie podcasts. They, and Flanders and Swann are what I believe are termed “guilty pleasures”, but are just great tunes and very clever lyrics.

It could just well be a trick of numbers. The man could well be 17 years old but the son is 23 days old. Admittedly I am stretching it for an answer here.

I could well have been a talent on tv but i relinquished a role to focus on a more honest living.

Hence the Pirates of Penzance reference , Sneckymin. The gist of the story was around a young loon inheriting stuff on his 21st birthday, but it was on Feb 29th.........
