    Paul Newton post-match on Barrow

In the post-match hour on Saturday Paul Newton was urging the Barrow commentator and his sidekick to state that Barrow can get into the Play-Offs. Quite rightly they refused to do so.

Salford City are likely to finish on 74 points and Mansfield Town are likely to finish on 74 / 75 points. Let's be mean to them both and state that the best of the two will finish on 72 points. They both have vastly superior goal differences to Barrow, meaning that Barrow have to get one more point, thus 73 points.

For Barrow to reach 73 points they would need to win 4 of their remaining 5 matches. Only Leyton Orient have won half their matches so how likely is it that Barrow will win 4 of their last 5 to get to 73 points, which as stated is an unlikely low target. The target is much more likely to be 75 points because the best of Salford City / Mansfield will finish on at least 74 points. That would make Barrow's task the winning of all their 5 matches.

This is based on Salford City & Mansfield Town vying for 7th place.
