Queens really need to win this match, - because we can't rely on Falkirk doing us any favours when they play Alloa. Who would Falkirk rather face in the play-offs, - Alloa or a resurgent QOS?

Although it would be 'nice' from Dunfermline's perspective to win the league on Saturday, - they know the championship is in the bag, - so they wont be coming at us at 100%. Equally, - Falkirk don't need to burst a gut either, - because they know they are in the play -offs, - and they need to save themselves for 4 back to back matches.

Unfortunately, - Queens need to win every remaining match to have a chance of the play -offs, - and then, - if they squeeze into 4th spot they will face Airdrie back to back, - followed by Falkirk back to back (if they progress) - followed by yet another double header!

Relatively speaking, Dunfermline away on Saturday is 'fairly easy!'

What a crazy position they've got themselves in, - but far better to have a chance than absolutely none at all.
I thought the play offs from league one to championship was 2nd v 3rd and 4th v 9th in championship with winners of these 2 legged affairs playing each other over 2 legs to establish who goes up or stays if that is the case. It’s not the same format as championship to premier league which is heavily weighed in favour of premier league clubs. I may be wrong and format may have changed.

Was having the same discussion yesterday and had to resort to Wikipedia (SPFL site didn’t seem to have the info). Here’s what Wikipedia says:

‘The clubs finishing 2nd, 3rd, 4th in League One, and the 9th placed team in the Championship then enter the two-legged Championship play-off. The 2nd-placed League One club plays the 3rd-placed League One club, whilst the team who finished 4th in League One will play the 9th-placed Championship side. The winners of these ties will then play each other.”
