Romared Match Thoughts Lincoln City v Barnsley

I was very surprised to discover this morning that Lincoln have only lost one home game all season .

Not only that they've only lost as many games as we have this season , 10 , it's the number of draws that's prevented them from challenging for a play off place , 19 .

Clearly they are difficult to beat and we should know given they've turned us over twice already this season .

I'm expecting them to be similar to Exeter City when we played them recently , hard working , in our faces with some decent players who if they can take their chances will beat anybody in this league , if they don't they draw the game .

This clearly isn't going to be easy at all is it ?

Agreed. Gone for a 1-1 prediction on this game. The best teams in this division have visited Sincil Bank and come away winless.

Thing is, we desperately need the 3 points. It's gonna be a tough decision for Duff as to what his approach to this game will be. I don't know owt about Lincoln and their style of play as I've not seen them laik this season.

The Imps have only lost 1 game at home all season against Peterborough United having won 6 drawn 13 and lost 1.
They have drawn at home 1-1 to Ipswich, Plymouth & Wednesday.

They have beaten us twice already this season and certainly no fluke either.
If I remember the lad Diamond played like one and he’s now gone but no doubt there may well will be another.

Current home form they have managed 4 wins, 5 draws and their only defeat from the last ten.

Winning the last three fixtures on the bounce this is a massive game to say the least at the leagues draw specialists.

    In Duff we trust !

It's going to be a tough match. But I'm hoping our away form has turned around. Hopefully our defence is back on form so I'm hoping for a 1-0 victory.

Yeah it’s going to be a bumpy ride tomorrow, but let’s not forget we have only lost 3 games since the start of January ourselves!
I think it is absolutely critical we get that first goal in this one, we are not the best at coming back from a goal down, otherwise it could be another Exeter.

All our 25 victories this season have been when we have scored first in a game.

We haven't won after conceding first goal in a game and never won from being in a losing position.

Conclusion--It would help if we scored first at Lincoln. A trademark Cole tap in from inside the six yard box would suffice.

We have the best defensive away record in the league conceding only 19 goals & if we are to get the points tonight that defence will have to be on its A game tonight , everything points towards a draw , we will see .

My head says we will lose, another Adam Jackson goal.

My heart says we will win scoring the first goal.

My head and heart together say a draw, which is no good to us.
