Burnley perhaps aside, the quality of the rest of the teams in the Championship is pretty dire in comparison to the Prem. and I think any that get promoted will be in for a pretty torrid time making MOTD viewing not a particularly nice prospect. For ourselves, the main reason for wishing to get promoted is surely financial so that we might be able to buy new players to improve the squad but equally also the hope that premier league status might help attract a new owner. Given Lai's track record, the worry is surely how much of the financial rewards of gaining promotion will actually be invested in the club and how much of it will he trouser? Not saying that things wouldn't be worse if we remain in the Championship, just that gaining promotion has its own problems. Sorry to put a downer on things
Not a downer at all. Its exactly as it is. As for Burnley there's already talk of them losing their manager to the likes of Chelsea or Tottenham. So even if you do REALLY well as they have you get asset stripped. The Premier for me is a lousy league.
