Give him all the credit you want for anything you want, but I wasn’t talking about his goalscoring, as good as it’s been. Hopefully his crossing will get better, especially if we’re in a higher league, creating from wide positions is obviously how we get a lot of our goals, though this season it’s been mainly from the right.

He's an asset for the club who will improve as a defender as he goes into his late twenties.
We won't find it easy to find a player who can use the ball and surge forward as well as he does. Really want to see him stay at Notts
I thought he was excellent when he arrived. I think he's gone backwards. Just my opinion but I see no leadership from him. He takes every opportunity to fall to the floor because he puts himself in difficult positions and the only time he looks reasonably effective is carrying the ball forward. We need a strong committed defender first and foremost and he is not that.

I don't think his crossing is that bad, it's just that he doesn't have the pace and dribbling skills of Nemane to get to the byline. It needs a good pass to get him there, and when he gets that pass he can put a good cross in.

If he added pace and dribbling to his game, I don't think he'd be playing for us!

Got a feeling we'll see a new Right-sided defender next year, plus squad additions. Maybe that will change the balance...

As for those free-kicks, players do pile into the back of him when he's shielding the ball. Every player has the right to shield the ball, and they don't have to pile into him and expect him to get into a fight. But they always do. They've got to be smarter and not give him an easy out.
Their managers should be telling them to just jockey him and try to nick the ball with their feet.

I would have him over a Duffy type player any day.. I for one hopes he stays, he has been an integral part of our defence.. Whoever thinks differently is deluded..

Why should anyone with an opinion different from yours be "deluded"??? Have your own opinion by all means but please dont make yourself sound so arrogant. All opinions are valid, this is a forum for opinion and debate.

There are questions marks over his defending at times, but I agree that his qualities on the ball make him pretty much perfect for the system LW likes to play. Worth keeping for that reason. Probably wouldn't be so keen if we played like we did under Ardley.

If Rawlo did leave then we have Brindley who can play there but I think over time TAR could also be an asset in that position. Big, strong, fast and appears to be able to play football the way we want.

I agree with the poster about Cameron, I wouldn’t be sad to see him leave, I don’t think he’s a good leader and makes a lot of careless mistakes…..and his diving is embarrassing and is dependant on the ref falling for it in dangerous situations. I’d put Chicksen in that position and bring in a more natural LWB who gets to the byline more frequently. Vincent is decent cover in that position. Bostock should be named captain for next season.

As I see it for next season

    GK - New player
    GK - Slocombe
    GK - Brooks

    RCB - Brindley
RCB - New player - Release Rawlo

    CB - Baldwin
    CB - New Player

    LCB - Chicksen
LCB - New player - Release Cameron

    RWB - TAR
    RWB - Nemane

    LWB - New Player
    LWB - Vincent

    CM - Palmer
    CM - Bostock (c)
    CM - JOB - 1 year
CM - New player - Release Francis
    CM - New Player
    CAM - Austin
CAM - New Player - Ruben leaving - Jones(?)

    ST - Scott
    ST - Munakandafa
ST - New player - Macca leaving
ST - New Player - Release Mitchell
    ST - New player

Hopefully Maccas fee will go a long way in ‘rebuilding the team!

I'd make Palmer captain. He's not the most vocal, but he turns up every single game and dictates the way we play.

I'd love it if we signed Jones, but I guess that'll be conditional on us getting promoted. CLE might be worth returning to as well - we didn't see the best of him earlier this season, and he'd add depth and versatility to the squad. I wonder if we'll take another look at Sbarra in the summer, or even Dallas when his loan is up at Chesterfield. They could be the Ruben-Macca replacements in theory.

I'm pretty much in tune with all of this. Bostock has already shown those including myself, who might have doubted his commitment, that he is prepared to roll up his sleeves. That and his quality and experience would make him.a fine captain. Though I'd be happy if JOB was club captain, even if not guaranteed a start.
