Well, just back home from Sheffield; had a very enjoyable afternoon there and then we went to the football!

Actually, though, I thought that we were holding our own, Blades weren’t looking too threatening, until that TGH mistake, that lifted them and took the pressure off, our heads dropped. Let’s be honest, we are just not quite good enough, we don’t have the attacking players to pose any sort of goal threat. It’s no good sending crosses into their box when we have nobody to win a header or a knock down. I have to say, though, Grant was awful, shocking miss early in the game and just wouldn’t take a defender on; he’s got to go. Had that chance been put away, who knows?

Yes it was a shocking miss and almost every comment has echoed this! 18 million? Seriously not worth 1 million and being serious!

Yes, we seriously lack quality in some areas. We have also had a very bad run of injuries, which highlight the aforementioned lack of quality even more.

Main problem though, the owner. FOL!

CC has done great with this, all in all, quality wise, quite limited squad,

A fair post, ultimately we were a little unlucky, have too many injuries and lack of quality has done for us. Will have to see what the loan market can bring us next season as we do t have a pot to piss in and won’t be buying anyone.

Why has nobody mentioned the part Ajayi played in the opening goal? Yes, it was an awful back pass from TGH but it wasn't a real goal scoring opportunity until Ajayi lunged in with a pathetic attempt at a tackle which ended up with him on his knees! In my opinion, he was as much to blame as TGH.

Nobody has mentioned Corberran’s part in it either, trying to get a bunch of misfits to play like Man City is ridiculous.
It seems like it’s coached into them to pass the ball backwards at every opportunity, Furlong being the worst culprit, TGH could have passed the ball sideways to Townsend, passing backwards from virtually the half way line is negative football, it’s all rinse repeat, tippy tappy walking football going nowhere fast.
We don’t counter attack quickly, Sheff Utd at times played with 5-6 forwards, the gaps were there but we were too slow, it’s seems we have to make several passes in our own half before going forward giving teams chance to get back into shape.
You could bring on Brian the snail from the magic roundabout and it would speed play up
For all the good Corberran has done this slow play doesn’t work, it’s predictable and boring

We allow teams far too much space down both wings which creates problems all the time. Same with Sunderland - we are too narrow in the middle. Started at Burnley when the number of crosses etc caused massive problems for us and other teams have used the same tactics. Need to be able to change to match them during the game - not happening.
Still think administration beckons given the state of our finances!!!!

The way I feel about this club right now I would welcome offers for any of our players. Reset for a bumpy season and hope Lai decides to get out wit at least something, won’t get anything if we go into administration..thank you to Carlos for keeping us up and giving us a squeak still of the play offs.
