    Frank Lampard

Strewth, he really has to go down as one of the worst managers in the Premier in recent times. Who advises these club owners?

Being a manager is a totally different skill set than being a player so it’s no wonder so many great players make mediocre managers. The only wonder is that so many great players are given management jobs even though very few really do that well. I’m trying to think of great players that were great managers and I can think of cruyff and Zidane and then I’m struggling for names.

It’s a fact alright. It’s been a great first season for Kompany though. Managing isn’t playing. I think owners who go for players can’t have done much research.

Was speaking about Lampard to the only Chelsea fan on our night crew this morning. Whilst Lampard obviously hasn't got the management experience for this level he firmly puts all Chelsea's ills down to their new owner and poor recruitment (sound familiar &#128515. Whatever else Abramovich was, he seemed at least committed to the club and had some knowledge of the game. Boehly may be a billionaire but Abramovich he aint! Still, whilst it might not be very charitable, in a world where money and greed dominate the top tiers of football it's nice to see some of these "big" clubs experience problems too isn't it?

Shankly, Busby, Jack Charlton and Clough, but you are correct many don't make it.
