Ah well, zero surprise at the result there.
We’re set up as a team much, much better and we’re much more solid at the back - the back 3 all had good games again today - but until we get players who can actually keep the ball, pass and move it properly and not just give it away constantly - mainly in midfield tbh - we’re not getting any closer than this.
Im afraid our midfield just don’t find space and use the ball well enough. Limits the options from the back, hence the constant aimless long lumps forward.
Decision making is also often poor - one point second half Hayes broke well, ran clear and could have played in - Coulson I think - on the right who had a run in on goal. Hayes just didn’t see it and tried an impossible pass back the other way and just gave it away.
Happens far too often for us to get any closer to the uglies at the moment.
Effort, attitude etc all spot on again. We need better players though. Sadly, I dont think we can afford them.
I also groaned when Morris came on, but I was also pleasantly surprised. Thought he showed some nice touches.
No harm done at the end of the day, with the diets losing and as I said, no surprise us losing at Mordor, but you have to say that two one on ones and no goals is never gonna get you a result down there. Duk’s been immense though, so I’ll forgive him just this once…
